The following list will give you an overwview of some of these icons and their meanings, as well as what app generates them (if they're created by an app). Also, to those who might wonder, this does not wipe your phone.Especially when using a new Android device, after Software updates or the installation of a new app, it's possible that you recognize new symbols or signs in the notification bar from which you don't know the meaning, yet. If anyone does attempt this, let us know how it goes. Hopefully someone else can confirm more accurate findings than I can given my current situation. I will retest again tonight and hopefully get back to this thread tonight or in the morning, but here is the process in case anyone wants to try it out:Ģ) Enter Hboot (hold Vol down and Power immediately after booting starts)ģ) Select the option to enter bootloader and recovery.Ĥ) Once you see the phone with the Red triangle in the middle, hold Vol UP and power for 10 seconds.ĥ) When you release you should be at the service menu. Unfortunately, the M8 is pulling relatively slow speeds (around 10-15 mbit), so my work router could just be overloaded right now. I do have the M8 with me, but all I can say is that they are pulling about the same speeds. I cannot confirm for sure if this did or did not fix my problem because I'm currently at work. She even said at one point that she knew that it was going to fix my problem. So, I called HTC support and they denied knowing anything about a wifi issue (which I contested), but they really, really wanted me to reset my cache. Then, when playing a game, wifi was cutting in and out, which at least it usually did not do before the update. I'm sure you can imagine my dismay when I tested and received the same results as before. I was excited because I thought I would be good to go and could finally decide I'm keep the device and unlock the bootloader and all of that. Still, my hopes were high that the new firmware update was going to fix my issue. I could run speed tests on the M8 right next to the HTC 10 (not simultaneously, but concurrently) and the M8 would hold strong at its usual range while the HTC 10 would get much slower speeds, like 20 mbit. When I received the HTC 10, it was much more varied. The HTC M8 I can test next the router or across the street, and it always pulls the same speed, around 115-120 mbit. To recap my situation, I have an HTC M8 on Marshmallow and an HTC 10. The HTC had wifi always on, and disabled the wifi optimize. It is quite obvious the HTC 10 wifi is weaker then my other phone, but may be HTC change something on new batch so I don't experience anything you guys have. At my apartment front door, which is 10m away from the router and 1 concrete wall, both the G3 and HTC 10 speed will drop, but performance on the same level, which is about 30~50mbps. The router is in the same room with about 3~4m line of sight. The network only have IPv4, no 6to4 or other similar stuff. I am using an old Buffalo WZR-AG300H with firmware flash to WZR-600DHP, japan firmware 1.9.9. Just got the HTC 10 yesterday, firmware already on 1.80.708.6, baseband "1.0 _39.13F", manufacture in 2016-July, I saw so many user with NFC and wifi problem, but none on my unit, NFC is working the same as my LG G3 and Nexus 5, and wifi is about 5~10dbm less on 5Ghz, 10~20dbm less on 2.4Ghz channel when compare to the G3, but it can connect to my router without any problem, speed is really good and connect at 270mbps on channel 44, 11n (report by HTC 10), just only drop to 150 when the LG G3 join in, no connect drop report on my AP, and it kees the same speed more then 12hrs. No idea what changed, but it's been a week now with not one drop from the Asus router. The Asus router always worked at full speed, but it'd drop all the time. I usually kept the wifi network on it off, but since getting the 10 kept it on just for my phone because it was the only thing it'd hold a stable connection to. ![]() The Asus router is my main router, the Verizon router is piggybacked off of it to run the MOCA network for the STBs. I didn't even set a static IP, because as I said before the Verizon router, which usually worked albeit slowly, kept dropping one day and I tried to switch to the Asus router because I was trying to watch a video and just wanted it to work for a a few minutes. ![]() I've had the issue since I first got the phone, so I wish I knew what it was that changed. It's been a week and I've had full speed and no issues so I'm ruling out placebo effect and dumb luck. ![]() I'm using 5ghz right now for the extra speed, but both 2.4 and 5 work perfectly fine. Yeah it's dual band, otherwise I wouldn't have called it 'nice'.
